Scope
This statement applies to user interactions with the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) and is designed to comply with State and Federal privacy laws in Australia.

AbaF is committed to ensuring that the Personal Information it holds about individuals is handled appropriately and lawfully.

General
The AbaF site makes some use of data that directly or indirectly identifies users. We take great care with practices that affect personal privacy. AbaF staff welcome feedback from their users in relation to the site's design and practices, and to this Privacy Statement. Questions and feedback should be addressed to the webmaster.

Automated Data Collection
Data that in some way identifies the user is gathered during interactions with the AbaF web site in the following circumstances:

Computer Information
It is a necessary part of visiting any web site, including the AbaF site, that the user's web browser provides the machine's identity (its IP-address) to the web-server, so that the server can address the reply to the correct machine. In addition, the browser type and operating system are provided.

Navigation and Click-Stream Data

Browsing any web-site, including the AbaF site, generates a trail of the pages that are visited, and the time apparently spent displaying each page.

Data Storage, Use and Disclosure, and Retention
All personal data described in the preceding section is stored in transmission logs, and archived for a period that is yet to be determined but is likely to be at least 12 months and quite probably 7 years.

The data is used by AbaF site software, and by staff involved in the AbaF operation, only for:

  • web site and system administration, including monitoring to prevent security breaches;
  • customisation of the web site to the user's needs; and
  • evaluation, research and development.

Identified data can only be re-disclosed to the user if the user provides the unique request session number. Identified data may be disclosed to a third party only in circumstances in which it is legally authorised, such as in the investigation of a criminal offence, and in compliance with a search warrant or subpoena.

Cookies
AbaF (or third party service providers on our behalf) may set and access cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small amount of data (often including a unique identifier), that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. AbaF uses cookies to understand site usage and to improve the content and offerings on our site. We may use cookies to record requests for subscriptions and to help visitors get a better response time from our site.

AbaF (or third party service providers on our behalf) may also use cookies to collect aggregate information about web site users on an anonymous basis.

If you do not wish to use cookies, your Web browser may include an option that will allow you to refuse them. However, if you do not use cookies, some portions of our site may not function efficiently.

User Feedback
We seek feedback from our users in order to improve the service offered by the site. Answering feedback questions is voluntary and does not in any way affect your access to the AbaF site. AbaF will not disclose this feedback to any third party, other than as required by law.

Complaints About Privacy
If you have any complaints relating to online privacy issues on our website, please notify AbaF. While AbaF accepts no liability for any material or links posted to its website, we will investigate all complaints.

No Sale of Personal Information
Under no circumstances will AbaF sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.
