Arts organisations qualify if they are:
- a bona-fide cultural organisation*
- a legally constituted non-profit body**
- engaged in the pursuit of quality cultural activities
- the project for which the funds are to be granted will further Australia's cultural life.
Artist (or groups of artists) qualify if:
- they are a bona-fide practising artist
- they are engaged in the pursuit of quality cultural activities
- the project for which the funds are to be granted will further Australia's cultural life
- the gift will be used for the designated purposes.

*AbaF refers to the Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO) definition of cultural organisations in determining whether an organisation meets our criteria to receive a grant. The organisation must have as its main purpose the promotion of one or more of the following arts-related activities: literature, music, performing art, visual art, craft, design, film, video, television, radio, community arts, Aboriginal arts or moveable cultural heritage.
