Tinalley String Quartet comprises: Adam Chalabi on first violin, Lerida Delbridge on second violin, Justin Williams on viola and Michelle Wood on cello.

The Tinalley String Quartet is recognized globally as one of the world’s preeminent young quartets. Awarded the Grand Prize in the Australian Chamber Music Competition in 2005, the Quartet captured the world’s attention in 2007 when it won First Prize at the world’s premier chamber music competition, the 9th Banff International String Quartet Competition.

The Quartet has performed throughout Australia, Europe, Canada and America to critical acclaim, international highlights including appearances in the Vienna Musikverein, Berlin Konzerthaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Bremen Die Glocke, Frankfurt AlteOper, as well as in Paris, Hamburg, Nurnberg, Luxembourg, Vancouver, San Francisco, San Diego, Toronto and New York.

The Quartet has been broadcast in Australia by ABC Classic FM, 3MBS FM and internationally by CBC Canada, SRW2 and HR2 Kultur Germany, Radio France and Public National Radio, The Netherlands.

In 2012 the Tinalley String Quartet will again captivate, engage and delight Australian audiences as it presents the second year of its National Concert Series. The Series comprises three programs presented in the Melbourne Recital Centre, Sydney Opera House, Adelaide University’s Elder Hall and the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. Philanthropic assistance is vital for the continuation and expansion of the Series, which is financed primarily by the Quartet and ticket sales. Your support will assist Tinalley to create a Series which presents diverse, scintillating and enriching programs in Australia’s finest venues with globally sought-after guest musicians.
