Established in 2005 with a donation from musician John Butler, The Seed Fund is a national arts grants program which encourages successful music industry practitioners to donate money and expertise to support emerging Australian musicians, music industry professionals and other artists.
The Seed Fund operates an annual grant program and a music management workshop. Up to 400 applications are received from bona-fide practising artists and non-profit cultural organisations for each annual grant round.
The Seed Grants are distributed to 15-20 different arts projects each year, and a further 24 musicians and band managers are accepted into the 4 day Music management workshop and residency. The focus is on professional development and mentorship and many artists have benefitted from this program.
How you can help
The Seed Fund is playing a critical role helping up-and-coming musicians, music industry professionals and other artists who need it at the start of their careers. Donations help to esnure this grant program can operate for years to come.
