The Living Room Theatre are inviting patrons to support for the creative development and performance season of I Love Todd Sampson to be performed at Pier 2/3 in early
2013.
I Love Todd Sampson is our contemporary ghost story about a woman, Laura, and the people who live inside her. Within her everyday life the story examines her dissociative states ad we learn more about how the extraordinary exists within her everyday.
Pier 2/3 will become a metaphor for Laura’s mind. A theatre work that will be part installation, part sound score, part concert. Within the motel room of her mind she finds Todd Sampson bathing in her tub. Laura becomes drawn further into her own mind finding patterns in random configuration of a language and image.
Our work gives a voice for those vulnerable in our community. By framing the everyday into beautiful artistic works we allow others to see into this world through a less confronting platform.
It will premiere in Sydney and we plan to tour it to Melbourne later in 2013 and then onto Berlin and Toronto.
I Love Todd Sampson is a compelling contemporary new work with atmospheric sounds keeping us in the now, the everyday, the domestic the familiar – underpinned by a sense of disquiet.
