Mischa loves acting. She was recently accepted into the prestigious acting school Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City. Alumni include Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, Julianne Moore, Salma Hayek and Mark Ruffalo. And what's just as exciting is that once Mischa has finished her studies she can apply (with a high rate of success) to stay in the US for a year doing auditions and working to get her big break! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she needs to leap at this chance.
Mischa graduated from the specialist drama school, John Curtin College of the Arts in 2003 for which she won 'Top Drama' Award for the two years she attended. She completed her BA at Curtin University in 2006, majoring in Performance Studies and minoring in Film and Television. After graduation Mischa was immediately cast in her first adult professional play called Phaedra's Love by Sarah Kane and has since worked professionally in various plays, short films and commercials.
Mischa has also established three companies since 2007 to further the Perth arts scene and her own acting career. 7 Centaur Productions is a film company she established in 2007 with Stevie Cruz-Martin; Theatre and the Colour Passion (2009) is a theatre club - like a book club - that also runs Advanced Acting Sessions which are the only professional theatre acting classes in Perth; and Little y Theatre Company is a theatre company she established in 2010 with Georgia King and Alexis Davis (RIP) which will be producing a play at The Blue Room Theatre in June 2011 called Scent Tales. All these companies support her aim to make a difference, doing what she loves.
Mischa has also worked on making a difference for refugees by making films and creating awareness events; for Lawyers for Human Rights editing films to spread awareness on the conditions of Detention Centres, Illegal Evictions and Independent Trading in South Africa; and teaching young people drama, filmmaking and communication skills. Once completing her studies she intends to excel in her acting career while continuing to contribute to the lives of the underprivileged.
