Workplace Giving
AbaF encourages workplace giving
Adding the arts to your workplace giving program enhances your reputation as a preferred employer and identifies your business as a creative leader. You will also be helping to maintain a vibrant arts sector in Australia.
Workplace giving allows employees to support the arts through your payroll system and receive a tax benefit. In many cases employers match the donations of their employees.
Employees’ donations are deducted before tax is calculated which allows them to receive a tax benefit each time they donate. An added benefit is employees will no longer need to keep tax receipts or wait to claim donations with annual tax returns.
Employees can support a preferred arts organisation as long as it has the necessary the Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR).
How to establish workplace giving
Businesses can choose to support the arts through the Australia Cultural Fund. Alternatively, talk to your local AbaF office about setting up a workplace giving program.
