boardBank connects arts boards with business expertise

boardBank is a free service that introduces business people who are keen to offer their expertise and time to boards of arts organisations.

AbaF helps to identify the best skill set for the board of an arts organisation and assists to recruit the right people.

Any not-for-profit arts organisation can approach us for assistance to find the right business person to fill their vacancy.

How it works: 

We

  • assist your  organisation to identify your needs and develop profiles for board members
  • register your organisation
  • identify experienced business people and introduce them to your organisation
  • provide ongoing support and monitor the outcomes.

To register for boardBank, please download and print the Woodside Better Business - Arts Registration form and return a signed completed copy to your local AbaF office. Please note: it is acceptable to sign, scan and email or fax a copy of the completed form to your local AbaF state or territory office.

Board members who have delivered exceptional outcomes for arts organisations are eligible to be nominated for the Woodside Better Business Award at the annual AbaF Awards. 

In addition to boardBank, our Woodside Better Boards service includes:

  • promoting boardBank to business people (individuals and companies)
  • working with  your board to build your knowledge and strategies for income generation.

AbaF is proud to partner with Woodside to present the Woodside Better Business program which includes our two volunteering services, adviceBank and boardBank.



Board members and managers of not for profit arts and cultural organisations may also benefit from attending a Board development workshop delivered by Board Connect .

This workshop is aimed at strengthening the understanding of the role of board members and staff in governance and management.
