AbaF SME Award

Gertrude Contemporary and Fabio Ongarato Design

The creative partnership between the graphic design company, Fabio Ongarato, and the gallery, Gertrude Contemporary, is one that draws on their shared commitment to quality, cutting edge art and design, as well as their visual talents. Their five year partnership has resulted in major award winning work including publications, a new visual identity and a stunning new website.

 

AbaF Partnering Award

The Song Room and Ogilvy Group Melbourne

The Ogilvy Group Melbourne’s CEO, Andrew Baxter, is passionate about music and the arts. He also has a keen interest in The Song Room’s important work providing opportunities for young children in disadvantaged communities. This partnership meant Ogilvy could bring the not-for-profit Song Room to a national audience and increase fundraising through innovative creative services, branding, marketing and online delivery.

 

Visy Arts & Environment Award

Lake Bolac Eel Festival and Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority

The Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority is the primary natural resource management organisation for South West Victoria, and has supported the Lake Bolac Eel Festival since its inception seven years ago. Through funds, equipment, labour and signage, the Authority has helped this volunteer-run regional festival, which promotes environmental sustainability, community engagement and respect for Indigenous cultural heritage.

 

Arts & Health Foundation Award

Creativity Australia and Royal Children's Hospital

Each Monday at 5:15pm, all employees from every department of the Royal Children’s Hospital are invited to participate in choir practice. The result of a partnership between the Hospital and Creativity Australia, the RCH Choir is a creative outlet for staff and brings joy to young patients in the wards through regular performances.

 

QantasLink Regional Award

Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Powercor Australia

Powercor is the longest continuous sponsor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. In 1999 Powercor began investing in the MSO’s Regional Touring Program and in 2001 it became the naming rights partner of the Program. By working together, they continue to bring the power of great music to communities who have not had access to these experiences in the past.

 

Toyota Community Award

Banyule City Council and Banyule Community Health Service and Department of Planning & Community Development Victoria and Bendigo Bank - East Ivanhoe & Heidelberg Community Banks®

This multi-partner relationship brings together state government, local government, business and not-for-profits to provide resources and development projects in the high needs community of West Heidelberg. This diverse group shares a common interest in local social, economic and cultural development. By pooling their resources and networks, they have been able to achieve more arts projects that have greater impact and reach more people.

 

Woodside Better Business Award

National Boys Choir of Australia and Judith Hooper

The boys in the National Boys Choir all have supportive parents, but Judy Hooper’s dedication goes well beyond the humble sausage sizzle. Thanks to her business skills and several new initiatives, funds raised have increased five-fold and the Choir’s premises have been expanded and improved. Judy’s commitment and passion works on many levels – how many board members can also be found selling raffle tickets at shopping centres?

Australia Council Young and Emerging Artists Award

 ‘the cup project’ and Detpak

Thanks to an innovative partnership, Melbourne coffee lovers are now being introduced to emerging artists all over the city with ‘the cup project’ profiling young artists’ work on takeaway coffee cups. By supporting the project, Detpak has been able to showcase its high quality printing capabilities to potential customers, and both partners have been able to demonstrate their commitment to innovation and creativity.

 

These eight partnerships will go on to the national AbaF Awards 2011 to be presented at the national dinner in Perth on 11 October 2011.
